Wire working.....

Fri Oct 3, 2008, 3:24 PM
So I am currently working on a coiled collar. I haven't done much wire working or bending but I wanted to try it. So I am working hard on what I hope will be a beautiful necklace.

Its hard work I must say. And my hand is killing me for it. =_= My necklace WILL NOT be perfect. not even close to perfect. Since it is my first serious attempt at this sort of thing. I will post it when I am done.

Its very fun though. I am enjoying learning as I go.

  • Mood: Optimism
  • Listening to: Toma no Monogatari by Toma Ikuta
  • Reading: Beadstyle magazine
  • Watching: wire unspool itself
  • Playing: Professor Layton and the Curious Village
  • Eating: chocolate cake
  • Drinking: ......about to go get water.

Good luck! I've wanted to start wire working for a long time now, but have just been afraid to. My dilemma is, why practice/begin on silver wire when it probably won't turn out very well, BUT it will act differently than base metal wire if you want to start using that first? >.< I want a wire jig!

But I would like to see how you do on it!

I have one of the Thing-a-ma-jigs. The wire jigs....I just never get around to using the stuff I make with it lol. I have a bag full of random experimentations with that jig lol

Yar... I would just think that something like that would be good for more general wire working. Obviously, it doesn't help you with wire wrapping, but making other cool things ^.^
